Amada Retrofit Solutions For the Sentinel Range of guarding systems
Amada press brakes are among some of the most common machines used in production facilities around the world. When it comes to retrofitting guarding systems, it can be complex and challenging to interface with various Amada models, while maintaining the normal function and performance of the machine.
Through our 20+ years of experience in working with a wide range of Amada press brakes, we have developed a range of dedicated hardware and software integration solutions paired with the Sentinel Range of guarding systems to suit various models of Amada up-acting and down-acting machines including HDS, RGM2, FBDIII NT and RG.
PGS-IM1 interface for Amada HDS
The PGS-IM1 interface module is a hardware and software solution designed specifically for the Amada HDS, to integrate and manage the safety control functions between the Sentinel Plus guarding system and the machine. The Sentinel Plus safety controller and the PGS-IM1 interface module are installed neatly inside the Amada HDS electrical cabinet so no external enclosure is required.
Dedicated wiring harness
The wiring harness features Amada style connectors that plug directly into the Amada HDS logic board without having to cut or modify the existing wiring for a clean and professional, factory-style integration.
Tool Setup Mode
The custom tool setup mode enables the machine and tool origin to be performed without interference or interruption from the guarding system. Through a special optical function in the Sentinel Plus camera receiver, the operator can spin the AMNC hand wheel to close the tools at high-speed to reduce the time taken to origin the machine.

The PGS-IM1 interface paired with the Sentinel Plus guarding system delivers superior machine performance over other safety devices, enabling the machine to operate at maximum closing speed and with a minimum speed change point of 2mm.*

Analogue speed control
The PGS-IM2 features a selectable analogue ramp output that interfaces with the Amada analogue foot control to automatically manage the speed of the ram when safe speed is required during muting of the optical protection function.

The custom tool setup mode enables the machine operator to perform the machine and tool origin without interference or interruption from the guarding system.
